So we have all heard how whole wheat is more nutritious than white bread but indeed it is not. Researchers have measured the glycemic index for the two and there was no significant difference. Glycemic index is the rate in which glucose enters your blood stream, depends partly on the fiber content of the food. When shopping for bread you should purchase 100% whole grain bread, it has a lower glycemic index; this is especially important for people with diabetes.
